A couple of days ago, Relame unveiled its first sub-brand dubbed Dizo. It’s crazy when you think that three years ago Realme was a sub-brand from Oppo and now the company as a separate branch under BBK group has its own sub-brand. Well, Realme announced its first sub-brand and is gearing up to launch a bund of products. A couple of days ago, we saw the first Realme Dizo products appearing in the wild as rebranded products. The Realme Dizo GoPods are based on Realme Buds Air 2, while the Dizo Watch is based on the Realme Watch 2. However, Dizo isn’t just a rebranding brand as it is preparing its own products. Among these products, we’ll have feature phones, yes, feature phones.
When Realme announced Dizo, it announced it as a company that has a focus on AIoT products. Well, we don’t know when exactly feature phones entered this AIoT segment, but apparently, Dizo will also focus on them. According to FCC documents, Realme already certified two Dizo Feature phones.
Dizo Star 500
The Dizo Star 500 has a large screen and a traditional keypad below. It is a feature phone with dual-SIM capabilities but it is limited to dual-band 2G. It also has a single camera on the back, a microSD card slot, and a 1,830mAh battery. I have to say that it is quite elegant and does not seems to mimic feature phones from other established companies in this category.
The Dizo Star 300 is even more basic but prioritizes the battery life. It has a 2,500mAh battery, which for a feature phone can last days. The device also has two SIM slots still limited to 2G, a MicroSD slot, a single camera with LED flash. There is what a chunky loudspeaker. We assume that these feature phones will have MP3 capabilities.
The two phones that were certified by the FCC are listed as production units. For that reason, we can assume that they are close to a launch. At the time, we don’t know exactly which software they will be running. After all, these are Realme’s first feature phones. maybe the company will deploy its own software to ensure basic apps. Don’t expect WhatsApp or other popular applications, as this phone does not even has decent internet connectivity.
In addition to the rebranded earbuds and Watch, Dizo seems to be working on a Bluetooth Speaker and Vacuum Robot. We assume that we’ll hear a lot about the sub-brand in the coming months.
